![]() ![]() You always need to be kiting and making sure things don't get in your face, so while leveling, being in a cave for example is a bad situation to be in as a solo mage.įire mage is probably the most difficult mage spec to master. It's all about not letting them get in your face. Now, having said that, if you want to stick to mage, I would change to frost since it's the easiest one to level especially when pulling multiple mobs since you slow them all down. Mage shines in group content so you can focus on burning down things. This is especially apparent while leveling. ![]() To be honest, mage is probably one of the worst class to solo unless you are max level and fully decked out in good gear, especially fire mage. I don't really rememebr how many of the abilities you get early on while leveling though since it changes so often It can take aggro but if you are hitting it you'll hold it best you'll get out of it is manually having it attack something you plan to ignore so you can single target down something else while the elemental tanks it then you'll pull it off the elemental pretty much as soon as you swap to it after finishing your guy.įor mage in general solo leveling while fighting multiple mobs involves kiting if you're fire it'll be spamming scorch because you can cast it while moving and a talent gives you a small speed buff everytime you do it.įor frost you don't get any speed buffs but you can slow the mobs the most so you can just slow everything down a ton and keep them slowed while you walk around at normal speedįor arcane has an instant single cast slow and a talent that makes one of their spells gives them a speed buff it can kite really well but it's probably the weirdest one to aoe kite well on since your aoe wants you to almost be in melee range and your aoe slow caps at five targets for arcane compared to the other two.
